Say it with me now: Disney World has awesome food! There are whole websites devoted to convincing you of that fact. If you want some serious detail, check out Disney Food Blog or the up-to-date reviews on WDW News Today. But if you want a cheat sheet, then I have compiled the Top 5 Must-Have Foods for visiting Walt Disney World in October 2019!
It is worth mentioning up front that this month’s Top 5 list includes four Disney Springs locations. There are a ton of great menu items at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival also deserves some focus on it’s great food offerings. We prefer to focus on items that everyone can and should get during their vacation, so this month it just works out that most of the top 5 foods to try in October 2019 are in Disney Springs.
1. Pumpkin Cupcake at Sprinkles in Disney Springs
What: Pumpkin cake base with the standard pumpkin spices of nutmeg, clove, cinnamon, and ginger. The thick, sweet cream cheese frosting is also spiced with cinnamon.
Why: It is pumpkin spice season, y’all! Sprinkles has consistently good cupcakes and is part of the reason Disney tries so hard with the cupcake game in the parks. The Pumpkin Cupcake is moist, sweet, and the perfect fall compliment. This will officially be available through November 30th.
Where: Sprinkles, Disney Springs
Price: $5.50

2. Steakhouse Blended Burger at Epcot Food & Wine
What: Blended beef and mushroom slider with brie fondue, arugula, and a truffle and blue cheese potato chip on a brioche bun
Why: This crowd favorite is back at Epcot’s Food & Wine festival for a second year. The official description does it justice, especially since the description clarifies that it’s a slider and not a full burger. The arugula seems like an afterthought. But it does provide a little extra color to the otherwise extremely tasty burger blend!
Where: Flavors from Fire, Future World, Epcot (Food & Wine exclusive)
Price: $5.25 or DDP Snack Credit

3. Pumpkin Crème Brûlée at Amorette's
What: Pumpkin custard with brûléed sugar, candied pecans sprinkled on top, and adorned with a pumpkin cookie and Amorette’s chocolate disk.
Why: It’s October. We can have two pumpkin desserts on this list without being too basic, right? Amorette’s makes delicious desserts, crème brûlée is delicious, and pumpkin desserts are delicious in October.
Where: Amorette’s Patisserie, Disney Springs
Price: $6

4. Kabocha Pumpkin Bun at Yesake
What: Cinnamon-steamed bao bun filled with cranberries and sweet pumpkin cream. It is served with whipped cream with a dusting of cinnamon.
Why: Did we say two pumpkin desserts on this list? We meant three. Also the third Disney Springs location on the list this month. We are including YeSake’s Kabocha Pumpkin Bun because of how uniquely delicious it is. Venture outside of your comfort zone and try this sweet take on steamed bao.
Where: YeSake, Disney Springs
Price: $5.75

5. Air Pirate's Cargo Loaded Pretzel at Jock Lindsey's
What: Prosciutto, Sliced Brats, Artisian Pepperoni, Smoked Cheddar, Black Diamond Cheddar, Caraway Pickles, Spicy Mustard, and Beer Cheese Fondue
Why: Just look at it! This is a meal unto itself, but something you should definitely share with your party. We have seen charcuterie boards that cost more and give you less meat. You only get a few cheese cubes here, but you get a FULL Everything Pretzel with delicious beer cheese sauce on the side. This has something for everyone!
Where: Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar, Disney Springs
Price: $22
